How to choose a cycling sunglasses

Not all bicycles are the same, some are better than others. The same goes for cycling sunglasses.
As a cyclist, you may know bicycles more  than bike sunglasses. However, if you read this article, the situation will change.
Here are 10 key points that cyc

1.Eye protection

Riding a bicycle without wearing a helmet, Just like an idiot. The same goes for cycling sunglasses. Wearing cycling glasses can prevent our eyes from stones , debris ,dust, and insects of the road. UV400 functions lenses are can better filter ultraviolet rays and protect our eyes.

2.UV400 protection

Most sunglasses can  block ultraviolet rays. You know. That is the most basic

However, some cycling sunglasses is not 100% UV protection. We should choose cycling sunglasses that are labelled as “blocking 99-100% of UV rays” or “UV absorption up to 400nm” .

3.Wraparound design

The Wrap-around cycling sunglasses provide more curved lenses that wrap around the sides of our face and cover more area. This design can prevent sun rays from entering your eyes from the side. Meanwhile, it also provides a wider view of sight

We can adjust the bike base on your body. Same as riding sunglasses. Xunqi cycling sunglasses provide 8 based curved lenses to make them more suitable for European faces. Adjustable nose pads fit your face shape better.

5.Lens transmittance grade

As a cyclist, you are exposed to a lot of direct sunlight and light reflected from road surfaces, the darker lens is necessary. I would choose a  lens between category  2 and 3. If you are in a very bright environment without obstructions, the darker 4x lens will be a good choice. In the morning, please wear clear lenses.

6.Lens colour

Blue lens

The biggest benefit of the blue lens is versatility, particularly for rapidly changing light conditions such as through forests with intermittent tree cover.

Green lens

Green lens look good, but it is out of place for cycling. In lower light conditions, it lends shade. In bright conditions , the definition is good, like grey lens

Red Or Pink lens

Red and Pink lenses are a wild-card, it is great in low light. while in sunny day ,was suited than anticipated as the definition and shade also increased.

Grey lens

Grey is usually divided into category 0 (allowing all light to pass through) to category 4 (very dark). Based on visible light transmission (VLT), the most common one is type 2 (18-45% VLT) and type 3 (8-17% VLT) lenses in cycling.

Although grey colour can help  us to see things better in bright conditions, it also affects clarity and details are difficult to distinguish. Photochromic lenses that can adjust the tint level according to brightness provide cyclists with more versatility.

Clear lens

Clear lenses are best for night time riding or low light conditions. High definition and  Well protection from wind, dust and UVA and UVB rays.

7.Lens Quality

The PC lens is lighter, anti-scratch and impact resistance. With the function of UV 400 protection can well isolate the UV rays with a wavelength of 290 nm-380nm.

8.Optional extras or upgrading

Choosing cycling sunglasses lens coatings such as a hydrophobic coating, which repels water (useful in a hot climate), or anti-fog coating useful in a temperate climate or in the cool morning.

The photochromic lens which that automatically darkens in bright light and becomes lighter in low light. Great for early morning riding.

Polarized lenses can be very comfortable in very bright conditions and will cut reflected glare when sunlight bounces off smooth surfaces like pavement or road.

9.The correct way to wear sunglasses

The correct way to wear sunglasses is to wear your helmet, strap it on, and then put your glasses on the outside of  straps.  You look better in this way,  also you have the chance to take your glasses off and put them on again during the ride. It seems it is not important, but there is some occasion in which taking your sunglasses on.

10.Will the bigger lens be better?

Not definitely yes.Large lenses can provide a wider vision and windproof effect.  It depends on your face shape and helmet. In a word, suitability is the first choice.
